On location / In the scene
Good sound starts on set.
Production dialogue, location recording and the details that make a scene feel present. I approach sound as part of the picture: listening to the performance, the space and the moments between lines.
01 / Dialogue
Keep the performance in focus.
The goal is dialogue that feels connected to the actor and the room. Microphone placement, movement and awareness of the location all matter. Working with the camera and lighting teams helps sound fit the scene while keeping attention on the performance.

02 / The space around the words
Leave something for the edit.
Room tone, ambient sound and practical details give the edit a sense of place. My background in editing and sound design informs how I think about those recordings, from the transitions between shots to the atmosphere that continues beneath a conversation.

03 / Selected production sound credit
The Red Room
For this H. G. Wells adaptation, I recorded production dialogue and ambient sound alongside my work directing, editing and finishing the film. The historic house in Rogers, Arkansas supplied the setting for a story built around tension and atmosphere.
